Explore
Explore Mode lets users browse albums freely—tapping what interests them and following the conversation wherever it goes. It's one of four Memory Activities that power a Memory Session.
Explore is ideal for family visits and one-on-one caregiving because it supports curiosity, autonomy, and natural storytelling—without pressure.

What Explore Mode Does
Explore Mode presents albums in a browseable format so users can choose what to view next. This supports engagement through choice and curiosity—often a powerful way to encourage conversation in dementia care.
- Browse freely: no fixed path, no time pressure
- Conversation-first: great prompts happen naturally
- Flexible for ability
- Works with any content
Best Times to Use Explore
- Family visits—browse together and let stories unfold
- One-on-one caregiver sessions when you want natural engagement
- Intergenerational moments—grandchildren love browsing together
- When the person wants to feel in control of the experience

How to Run an Explore Session
Choose content
Select a Life Album (personal photos and voices) or a Feature Album (curated content for quick starts).
Start Explore Mode
Let the person browse freely. Follow their lead and see what catches their attention.
Follow the conversation
If a photo sparks a story, stay with it. If interest fades, gently suggest another album or activity.
End naturally
There’s no score or finish line. When the moment feels right, wrap up warmly.
Conversation Prompts That Work
Keep it simple
“Who is this?” “What’s happening here?” “Does this place feel familiar?”
Invite feelings, not facts
“What do you like about this?” “How does this make you feel?” “What did you enjoy most?”
Follow the spark
When something catches their eye, stay with it. Let them lead the conversation—even if it drifts.
Start Fast with Feature Albums
Feature Albums are curated for reminiscence-based sessions. Free previews rotate over time, and the full library is available with subscription.
